National Nurses Week Highlight The Power Of Palliative Care

Yuma-Patients dealing with a serious illness need specialized medical care. Unlike end of life, or hospice care, palliative care offers relief to patients dealing with chronic life-threatening illness with an eye toward recovery. This requires specific training and care models for varied patients, including children.

During this National Nurses Week, KAWC's Stephanie Sanchez speaks with the director of the National Institute of Nursing Research, Dr. Patricia Grady.

Grady says people often confuse palliative care with hospice care.
