NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION TAKE BACK DAY SATURDAY

The Yuma Police Department parking lot and the Sheriff's Department substation lot in the Foothills, are locations Saturday where area residents can safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs.  The two law enforcement agencies are participants in the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Take Back Day.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Alfonso Zavala says the event provides a much safer way of getting rid of these drugs than by flushing them or throwing them out in the trash.  He says disposing of these drugs keeps them out of the hands of possible abusers, especially kids...........

The hours Saturday at both drop off locations are from 10am to 2pm.  The Sheriff's Department's Foothills substation is located at 13190 East South Frontage Road.  The Police Department parking lot is at 1500 South First Avenue in Yuma.
