September 11th, 2001, more than 3,000 Americans died in terrorist attacks in New York, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania, where one of the hijacked jets crashed. On the 12th anniversary of the tragic event, a permanent memorial was unveiled in Yuma in honor of those who died that day and the more than 400 responders who lost their lives.
